01What it is
Pigmentation and melasma care at Sikara targets deep-seated melanin deposits caused by sun damage, hormonal shifts, or post-acne marks. Over-the-counter creams and generic salon facials only touch the surface skin layer and often worsen stubborn dermal melasma due to incorrect heat or friction. Our dermatologists use a medical-first approach, combining diagnostic skin analysis with targeted Q-Switched laser toning and customized chemical peels to safely break down pigment without triggering rebound darkening.
It is ideal for sun spots, stubborn melasma patches, uneven skin tone, and dark post-inflammatory marks. It requires patience and sun discipline—melasma is a chronic condition managed through steady clinical control rather than a single quick fix.
02A session, step by step
Map and analyze
Your dermatologist evaluates your pigment depth and skin type under specialized light to identify whether the melanin sits in the epidermis or deep dermis.
Precision treatment
A customized clinical peel or low-fluence Q-Switched laser energy is applied to safely fragment stubborn pigment granules without harming surrounding skin.
Soothe and hydrate
A calming, medical-grade hydrating mask is applied to lock in moisture and cool the skin immediately after treatment.
Protect and review
Broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen is applied, and your home-care pigment inhibitors and sun protection rules are reviewed.
03Aftercare
- Apply a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen (SPF 50+) every 3 hours without exception, even indoors.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and harsh outdoor heat for 48 hours following your session.
- Pause strong prescription retinoids and harsh chemical scrubs for 3 to 5 days.
- Use prescribed medical-grade pigment-suppressing topicals consistently as advised by your dermatologist.
- Keep skin hydrated with a gentle, barrier-repair moisturizer.
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
